The Ocean Energy European Research Area Network

(OCEANERA-NET) is a project funded by the European Union under the Seventh Framework Programme. It is a network comprising 15 national / regional funding agencies from 8 European countries, who are working together to coordinate activity to support the development of ocean energy. This collaboration includes joint calls for proposals for transnational, collaborative research and development projects.

Swedish Energy Agency

The Swedish Energy Agency has supported both RiaSoR 1 & 2.

The Swedish Energy Agency works for a sustainable energy system, combining ecological sustainability, competitiveness and security of supply.

The Agency finances research for new and renewable energy technologies, smart grids, and vehicles and transport fuels of the future. The Agency supports commercialisation and growth of energy related cleantech.

Scottish Enterprise

Scottish Enterprise supported the RiaSoR 1 project.

Scottish Enterprise is Scotland’s main economic development agency and a non-departmental public body of the Scottish Government.

We work with partners in the public and private sectors to identify and exploit the best opportunities to deliver a significant, lasting effect on the Scottish economy.

Innovate UK

Innovate UK supported the RiaSoR 1 project.

Innovate UK is the UK’s innovation agency. We work with people, companies and partner organisations to find and drive the science and technology innovations that will grow the UK economy.

With a strong business focus, we drive growth by working with companies to de-risk, enable and support innovation. To do this, we work to:

• determine which science and technology developments will drive future economic growth
• meet UK innovators with great ideas in the fields we’re focused on
• fund the strongest opportunities
• connect innovators with the right partners they need to succeed
• help our innovators launch, build and grow successful businesses

Highlands & Islands Enterprise

Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) is supporting RiaSoR 2.

HIE is an ambitious organisation with a unique remit from the Scottish Government that integrates economic and community development. We work in a diverse region which extends from Shetland to Argyll, and from the Outer Hebrides to Moray, covering more than half of Scotland’s land mass.

HIE want the Highlands and Islands to be a highly successful and competitive region in which increasing numbers of people choose to live, work, study and invest.
